Part 2.
The Meek Will Inherit the Earth
Very good. Anyone else?
“These are the few ways we can practice humility: To speak as little as possible of one's self. To mind one's own business. Not to want to manage other people's affairs. To avoid curiosity. To accept contradictions and correction cheerfully. To pass over the mistakes of others. To accept insults and injuries. To accept being slighted, forgotten and disliked. To be kind and gentle even under provocation. Never to stand on one's dignity.”
— Mother Teresa
“If there is such a thing as human perfection, it seems to emerge precisely from how we handle the imperfection that is everywhere, especially our own. What a clever place for God to hide holiness, so that only the humble and earnest will find it!"
— Richard Rohr, Falling Upward: A Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life
Now, can someone please give me an example?
“Life is the power that's greater than I can ever comprehend. The way life runs through everything, even the tiniest elements of nature - that makes me humble.”
— Actor/Activist Michael J. Fox
“Heart and humor and humility, he said will lighten up your heavy load.”
— Singer/songwriter Joni Mitchell
“We are sharing this humble space, on earth.”
— Model/Actress Pamela Anderson, Open Journal
Anyone else want to add anything?
“There is more value in a little study of humility and in a single act of it than in all the knowledge in the world.”
— Saint Teresa of Avila
“Humility is the secret of the wise.”
— Essayist Ralph Waldo Emerson
“Humility is the mark of a genuine disciple.”
— Thomas Aquinas
“If there is no humility, love remains blocked."
— Pope Francis
Unfortunately..
“We were largely taught what to believe instead of how to believe. We had faith in Jesus, often as if he were an idol, more than sharing the expansive faith of Jesus, which is always humble and patient (Matthew 11:25), and can be understood only by the humble and patient.”
— Richard Rohr, The Universal Christ
And let’s all remember...
“For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and everyone who humbles himself will be exalted.”
— Jesus Christ
How about the power of gentleness. Anyone?
“The powers of the world are often contemptuous of the powers of spirit. But the meek shall inherit the earth because their ways are more fit for ultimate survival. The meek displays a gentleness more adaptive to change than is an attitude of harsh resistance. This gentleness is not weakness, but strength. It brings a mildness and openheartedness that provide optimal opportunity for healing, forgiveness and love. Ultimately, it is these things—the powers of the soul—that will heal our hearts and save the world.”
— Marianne Williamson, The Healing of America
Which means...
“Gentleness brings victory to him who attacks, and safety to him who defends. Those whom Heaven would save, it fences round with gentleness.”
— Lao Tzu
“Let gentleness my strong enforcement be.”
— Playwright William Shakespeare
“The great mind knows the power of gentleness.”
— Poet Robert Browning
“In a gentle way, you can shake the world.”
— Mahatma Gandhi
And ultimately...
“There is a gentler way. Still… profound, mighty… effective."
— Model/Actress Pamela Anderson, Open Journal
So, in summary...
“I have three precious things which I hold fast and prize. The first is gentleness; the second frugality; the third is humility, which keeps me from putting myself before others. Be gentle and you can be bold; be frugal and you can be liberal; avoid putting yourself before others and you can become a leader among men.”
— Lao Tzu
“Humility like darkness reveals the heavenly lights.”
— Henry David Thoreau
“No one reaches the kingdom of Heaven except by humility”
— Saint Augustine
And let’s remember...
“Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.”
— Jesus Christ
Jesus knew this because he was both the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end, therefore, he knew it is already done.
Jesus said, “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.” So what I don’t understand is, why don’t we just believe him? I do. And many more will soon.
However, unfortunately, being meek and humble is considered a weakness in the “survival of the fittest” mentality we all currently live in. Am I right? Fortunately, the OCA movement will change this line of collective thinking.
Through spiritual practices of love, kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and service to others, humility and meekness will be seen as a spiritual strength, and no longer as an ego-based weakness—a paradigm shift in our collective thinking, so to speak.
Now, the herd mentality of the current patriarchy, who sees meekness as a weakness, will fight this paradigm shift. But we must stay the course by wholeheartedly participating in the OCA Movement and its spiritual practices.
And Jesus also said, “For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and everyone who humbles himself will be exalted.” So don’t you think now is a good time to just take Jesus at his word and swallow our pride, humbling ourselves as a pathway to creating Heaven on Earth? I do.
And isn’t “the meek will inherit the Earth” nothing more than the Second Coming of Christ? As it takes Christ consciousness to become meek, humble, and egoless. Which means the implementation of the OCA Movement is the kickoff to the Second Coming of Christ, for heaven’s sake—in my humble opinion.
"And the meek will inherit the earth," as Jesus said, and I believe now is as good a time as any. Don’t you?
Furthermore...
“In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus makes a prediction that to this day few people have understood. He says, “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” In modern versions of the Bible, “meek” is translated as humble. Who are the meek or the humble, and what does it mean that they shall inherit the earth? The meek are the egoless. They are those who have awakened to their essential true nature as consciousness and recognize that essence in all “others,” all life-forms. They live in the surrendered state and so feel their oneness with the whole and the Source. They embody the awakened consciousness that is changing all aspects of life on our planet, including nature, because life on earth is inseparable from the human consciousness that perceives and interacts with it. That is the sense in which the meek will inherit the earth. A new species is arising on the planet. It is arising now, and you are it!”
— Eckhart Tolle, A New Earth
Yes, you are!!
So, let’s begin our paradigm shift in thinking with.
“The tree laden with fruits always bends low. If you wish to be great, be lowly and meek.”
— Guru Ramakrishna
“The weak overcomes the strong. The soft overcomes the hard. Everybody in the world knows this, still nobody makes use of it.”
— Lao Tzu
“God chooses as His instrument the humblest and weakest of His creatures to fulfill Himself.”
— Mahatma Gandhi
