Before I started to create a plan to create Heaven on Earth, I originally wanted to put a book together summarizing the spiritual brilliance of my greatest spiritual teachers, Marianne Williamson, Eckhart Tolle, Mari Perron and Richard Rohr.   For me these four, especially Marianne Williamson and Eckhart Tolle, shaped my own personal understanding of my own spiritual existence and I will always be thankful to them.

At the time of wanting to put this book together, I felt that most people on a spiritual journey, including myself, read too many books on spirituality to the point we were more concerned with knowing than becoming.  And, many people on this spiritual journey, once again including myself, were mistaking the self-righteousness that comes with spiritually knowing as being spiritual. Which it is not. I felt being consumed in the known was a deterrent to experiencing in the unknown, where our true spiritual existence exists.

This meant many of us, read too much and spiritually practicing too little. It was like, we were all self-righteously calling ourselves “chefs” because we read a lot of cookbooks, but we hardly ever ventured into the kitchen to cook.

So with all of this in mind, I thought at the time I would put together a book that summarizes the spiritual brilliance of my four greatest teachers, and that would be all people on a spiritual journey would need for their own spiritual understanding -  thus avoiding the trappings that come with reading too much, and existing primarily in the known, like me.   

As I was putting excerpts together from primarily Marianne’s book “A Return to Love,” Eckhart’s book “A New Earth,” Mari’s book “A Course of Love,” and Richard’s book “The Universal Christ,” I thought, why not add a little something from some of my other spiritual teachers like Deepak Chopra. Joseph Campbell and Ram Dass. 

Then I thought maybe I should diversify this book, and add a little something from the likes, Albert Einstein, Mother Teresa, Poet Rumi, Leo Tolstoy, Leonardo da Vinci and Plato.  And as I started to put the book together, I realized everyone was saying the exact same thing, that Heaven is a place on Earth, and you can experience this Heaven through the breath, meditation, the arts, contentment, mother nature, child-like playfulness, visualization, being of service to others, giving, forgiving and compassion, kindness and love. 

The key to these Heavenly experiences is through the connection between one’s own heart and creative mind.  When I realized all these spiritually enlightened teachers were saying the same thing, that heaven is a place on Earth, suddenly this book shifted into a plan and with each contributor the plan grew. 

As my plan stands today, I offer a list of the contributors. As you can see the plan has grown significantly and I admit to finding a lot of joy in putting this plan together! You can see these contributors come from diverse backgrounds from Spirituality, Religion, Philosophy, Psychology, The Arts, Poetry, Literature, Science and even Fashion (of all places!)

You can also see the current contributors to this Heaven’s Wake-Up plan lived in different time periods throughout human history, which helps us recognize that the intention for us to create Heaven on Earth has always existed but was just never organized and executed like what we are all about to experience here.

I would like to thank every one of my spiritual contributors as without them this plan would not exist.  However, as a cautionary tale, let’s all remember these contributors only point to the direction to Heaven on Earth. Intellectually absorbing their spiritual knowledge is not the journey itself.  The real journey comes with embodying their knowledge with spiritual practices, until it becomes 2nd nature, and we create Heaven on Earth.

Then, together we can truly experience this statement of truth…  “Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth, as it is in Heaven.”
