Decide What Feelings to Focus On

WHOLEHEARTED WEDNESDAY

There are burdens we carry that rarely announce themselves as burdens.

They settle quietly into our posture, a worry that creates fear, an expectation we’ve placed on others or ourselves, a conversation we hear on replay, thoughts that weigh heavy on our hearts.

Over time, these subtle weights begin to shape the way we move through the day.

In this spiritual practice, instead of continuing to hold them internally, give them a place to land. Sit with a piece of paper and write down 5 things your heart has been carrying.

Let your words be unpolished and direct.

There is something clarifying about seeing your thoughts outside of yourself, where they can be witnessed rather than absorbed.

When the list is complete, pause and circle one item, just one.

Take a steady breath and make a quiet decision that, for today, this particular weight does not need to accompany you.

You may not resolve or completely fix it. But you can choose how tightly you hold it.

Wholehearted living is not about eliminating every pressure or solving every problem.

It is about recognizing that you have a say in how you carry what arises.

Sometimes that decision looks dramatic.

More often, it looks like ink on a page, a breath in your chest, and the simple willingness to let your heart be a little lighter than it was before.
